Flute Orchestra of Groton Hill: Season Finale

Sunday, June 4, 2023 —  3:00 pm
Groton Hill Ensembles in Meadow Hall

It’s a season of anniversaries as the ensemble marks its 40th year and Dr. Eileen Yarrison celebrates her 25th year as artistic director and conductor. The group is comprised of semi-professional and professional flutists who perform at Groton Hill and throughout the community.

“Such a talented group and a wonderfully entertaining director.” – Audience Member

Join us for the final concert of the group’s Ruby Anniversary season! The ensemble will be joined by alumni members of the Nashua Flute Choir and New England Flute Orchestra to celebrate forty years of music-making! From Mozart’s Magic Flute Overture, Judy Nishamura’s Flights of Passage, and Kelly Via’s arrangement of Abide With Me, the concert will feature music selected especially for this milestone. Two world premieres will take place: Jonathan Cohen’s Bancroft’s Castle, commissioned for the anniversary which celebrates a Groton landmark, and Brandon J Nelson’s An Harmonic Disquisition Upon Various Types of Cheese
