Over the years, Enterprise has supported our organization through senior executives serving on our board and by raising awareness of our shared goals through their Celebration of Excellence and other community events. Today, they continue to be an integral partner, sponsoring Orchestra concerts and all of the work we do to make music accessible to everyone throughout the region.
For this month’s spotlight, we spoke with Enterprise Bank’s Senior VP Cash Management Director Edith Joyce and Senior VP Regional Manager Cheryl Serpe. They shared their thoughts on our partnership and its ongoing impact on our community.
What value does Groton Hill bring to the communities you serve?
Groton Hill Music brings cultural enrichment to a broad geographic area and provides accessible world-class music performances to a wide range of audiences. The Center’s amazing facility draws people from around the region and gives individuals unique experiences. Rather than an all-day trip to Boston, with the associated logistical issues, attending a concert at Groton Hill is just a few minutes’ drive away, parking is free, and traffic is minimal.
The same holds true for the educational experiences they provide for students of all ages, with first-rate teachers and a state-of-the-art facility. Groton Hill also gives back to the region through free Community Concerts for the elderly, seniors, and families, as well as partnering with local public schools in Fitchburg, Lowell and Lawrence to offer free instrument classes. This is especially valuable during a time when school budgets are tight and music education quite often falls to the bottom of the priority list. This is truly the transformative power of music. I have heard many comments from people in the area that they feel so fortunate to have access to a world-class performance space “in our backyard.”
How does our connection reflect what is important to Enterprise’s mission? What are the essential values we share?

Have you and/or anyone from Enterprise been to any concerts or seen education programs in action at Groton Hill recently? If so, what did you like and why?
Many of our team members have attended performances at Groton Hill Music Center. Enterprise Bank also has team members who take private lessons and volunteer their time at weekend performances. From the moment you approach the building in its spectacular natural setting, you feel transported. The staff and volunteers are welcoming, warm and professional. This is felt by the performers, who express their admiration and appreciation for their own experience in a state-of-the-art performance space! Live performances and ongoing musical education are important for many of our team members and living near such a spectacular venue allows them the opportunity to fulfill this need.
