Bio

Born in Taipei, Taiwan, Chuen-Yi (Alice) Hsieh Daugherty is an award-winning flutist, active performer, and multi-talented teacher. She won first prize in several international competitions, including the Taipei Music Competition, the Jui-Shin Music Competition, and the Sun Yat-Sen University Concerto Competition. She has graced renowned stages worldwide, most notably Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New York City, and has also performed on Broadway. Chuen-Yi’s musical abilities allowed her to earn a scholarship to attend the National Sun Yat-Sen University where she received her B.A. A member of several ensembles, Chuen-Yi was invited to perform for the Consulate General of France in New York City in 2008.
