Teaching Philosophy

Students will find me patient, enthusiastic, and dedicated to music making. I am devoted to having my students make progress toward becoming lifelong lovers of music.

Dr. David Manuel Garcia is a band instructor in our Community Engagement program in the Lowell Public Schools. He works with students in the middle school’s “Afternoon in The Arts” program based at Lowell High School. Dr. Garcia brings decades of teaching experience at the high school, college, and university levels, including guest conductor work with many Honors Bands, as well as research and administrative endeavors. He has performed in diverse styles and settings ranging from orchestral clarinet (Parma Ukrainian Opera Orchestra, Laredo Philharmonic, and others) to playing bari sax with the Temptations (Wheeling Casino, 2009). He is also active as a published and commissioned composer and arranger. In addition to his work with Groton Hill Music School, Dr. Garcia conducts the Acton-Boxboro Community Band.
