My philosophy of teaching is nurturing by love. I believe that love is the impetus for learning and a simple effective element in education. As a good educator, I guide students to discover their strengths and help them to be the people they want to be.Education
Bio
Hexing enjoys an eclectic career as a performer and music instructor. Born and raised in Shenzhen, China, he has experienced both Eastern and Western education systems. During his master’s studies, he was a music theory tutor at the China Conservatory and served in a leadership role for the Conservatory Music Division with the Berklee SGA (Student Government Association). At Boston University, Hexing taught applied violin lessons for undergraduates and several sections of Aural Skills classes covering both tonal and post-tonal studies. Currently, Hexing works remotely at Tianjin Juilliard School as a music enrichment teacher. Performance activities in the U.S. and China have provided Hexing with the opportunities to collaborate with and learn from renowned artists and organizations. In 2022, he was invited as a guest musician for the Bach Intensive by Emmanuel Music. In 2018, his piano trio performed for the Loving the Process—Chamber Music Workshop in Harvard, MA. Outside of music, Hexing practices yoga and completed a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training Program in Boston. He also has an Advanced Open Water Diver Certificate from PADI.
