Teaching Philosophy
Jean’s passion is teaching individual piano students of all ages. She hopes that music can be a place of pleasure and confidence in life — a connection to others either as an individual musician or in collaboration with others. She believes strongly in the connection between singing skills and piano playing for soloists and collaborative pianists.Education

Bio
Jean Meltaus is an active pianist, experienced accompanist, vocal coach, and teacher. She serves on the Piano Faculty of Brandeis University, and is a staff pianist at the Boston Ballet School. Jean was on the faculty at the New England Conservatory Preparatory School for 21 years, teaching children’s choruses and music theory. She has worked and studied in France and at the Stuttgart Ballet and Opera, honing her language skills and gaining in depth knowledge of French and German language, poetry, and music. She also enjoys coaching chamber ensembles.
