Joe is an elementary and middle school band teacher in the Belmont, MA school district. He is an adjunct member of the music faculty at Fitchburg State University. He has taught in Andover, Chelsea, Boston University, and Waterville, ME.As a tubist, he has performed with many groups including the Walt Disney World All-American College Band, The Colby College Community Symphony, The Mayflower Hill Brass Quintet, The Blue Hill Brass Quintet, The Arlington Philharmonic Orchestra, the New England Philharmonic, The Boston Horns, Ben Rudnick and Friends, The Salem Winds, The Acadia Wind Ensemble, the Hillyer Festival Orchestra, the Great Bay Philharmonic, the Lowell Chamber Orchestra, the New England Film Orchestra, The Central Mass Brass, and the Gateway City Orchestra. He is an avid history buff, skier, golfer, baseball fan, assistant beekeeper, and drummer in Clan MacPherson Pipes and Drums in the Merrimack Valley. He lives in Fitchburg with his wife, saxophonist and conductor Amy McGlothlin.
