Teaching Philosophy

My teaching style is of a collaborative nature whereby students are encouraged to become an integral part of the learning process. Short and long term goals are set together as well as decision making on repertoire and focus for lessons. Technique and theory are mostly approached directly from repertoire that students are working on. Students are encouraged to evaluate their own work. Piano lessons are an opportunity to build a relationship with one’s own self through the mastery of playing. I find it a privilege to be able to foster this process through the span of many years.
