Linda Vieira

Teaching Philosophy
Linda is a patient and supportive teacher. She feels a student’s first teacher is extremely important to spark a love of music and get them off to a great start. Her teaching style includes a variety of approaches depending on a student’s learning style. Linda’s lessons are tailored to meet the needs and interests of the student. She feels that classical music provides the foundation for lessons and can be supplemented with a mix of popular, folk, and jazzy music. Lessons at all levels include music reading, theory, technique, ear training, and most importantly, how to make practice effective and enjoyable.Education
B.A. in Education and Psychology, University of Massachusetts-No. Dartmouth; M.A. in Piano Pedagogy, Lesley College. Further studies at New England Conservatory and the Longy School of Music. Principal teachers: Jean Stackhouse, Angel Rivera, Alys Terrien-Queen, and Anne Francoise-Perrault
