Todd Brunel is a critically acclaimed clarinetist and sax player who performs extensively as a classical and jazz musician. He has worked with such artists as The Irish Tenors, Judy Collins, Andy Pratt, John Tchicai, Lawrence ‘Butch’ Morris, the Sonic Explorers, the Circadian Rhythm Kings, Garrison Fewell, Bobby Watson, P. Andrew Willis, David Maxwell, Celtic Women, Jonathan Stout and His Campus Five, Guo Yhazhi, and many others. He has worked and with the White Snake Projects, The Brian Friedland Big Band, WGBH Television, The Front Porch Arts Collective, The Huntington Theater, The Pro Arte Chamber Orchestra, The Dixie Cookbook, Opera Ebony of Harlem, Music At Eden’s Edge and the White Heat Swing Orchestra. Composition credits include: Massachusetts a Song of Itself, Revolution and Resilience, a poem by Regie Gibson at the WBUR Festival. Many of his recordings can be found on Innova Recordings, Revello Records, PBS, Creative Nation Music, Leo Records, and Navona Records. He was a featured artist with his Swing Conspiracy at the Mandorla Concert Music Series, and participated in the Clarinouveau Montreal Music Festival. His current music projects include: Know Orchestra, Improbable Beasts, Les Extemps, Tom Casale’s No Bad Parts, Carboy, New England Winds and Strings, and Jerome Deupree’s Listen to This. He was a founding member of Musaner (Music of Armenia re-imagined), The Lilli Lewis Project, The Eric Hofbauer Quintet and was the producer of the Vortex Series For New and Improvised Music. He currently serves as an adjunct professor of clarinet and saxophone at Middlesex Community College and is a music teacher with the Waltham Public Schools. He holds a Bachelor of Music Degree from the Boston Conservatory where he was a student of Atilio Poto and a Master of Music Degree from Brooklyn College Conservatory where he was a graduate assistant to professor Paul Shelden.
