Groton Hill Music Center is excited to be this year’s home for the Groton Road Race. Here’s all the latest from the desk of the Squannacook River Runners:

Groton, Massachusetts, March 8, 2023 – The Squannacook River Runners are pleased to announce a partnership with Groton Hill Music Center to host the 2023 Groton Road Race. As one of the premier New England races, the Groton Road Race has the distinction of being held along beautiful rural scenery and hosted by a welcoming community over the past 30 years. This year’s event will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2023 starting at 9:00 am until approximately 1:30 pm.

The partnership between the Groton Road Race and the Groton Hill Music Center is the result of two like-minded organizations finding a common purpose of highlighting Groton’s attraction as a destination for culture and outdoor enthusiasm. 

“We are thrilled to have the Groton Road Race hosted on the campus of the Groton Hill Music Center. By shifting the race to this exciting new location, we are aligning our event with an organization that seeks to bring out the best in individuals and engage the community to promote those values,” stated Ryan McMeniman, Race Director, Groton Road Race Organizing Committee. 

For 2023, the Groton Road Race will return to its traditional routes that feature stunning views and challenging courses for the 10K and 5K races. A recent addition to the race is a Fun Run, which will be held on the music center campus, making it perfect for aspiring racers and their eager spectators. 

“When the Groton Road Race approached us about using our campus for their event, it was immediately clear that their mission aligned perfectly with ours,” stated Lisa Fiorentino, CEO, Groton Music Center. “As one of the newest community institutions, we felt that providing a new home for the Groton Road Race, one of the community’s oldest institutions, made for an ideal partnership.”
