December Sponsor Spotlight: The Groton Inn

Groton Hill Music Center is fortunate to have developed strong partnerships with numerous community-based businesses, from the area’s leading banks and retail establishments to manufacturing and hospitality companies. For this month’s spotlight, we spoke with Michael Noseworthy, General Manager of The Groton Inn and Forge & Vine, a corporate partner and regional destination located just down the street from us.

First, Michael shared some key facts about The Groton Inn:

Prominently located on Main Street, The Groton Inn is a boutique inn catering to business travelers, weddings, and those seeking a perfect New England getaway in the heart of Massachusetts. People may not know that it was the longest continuously operating inn in the country until the original structure was destroyed by fire in 2011. After years of meticulous planning, we reopened our doors in 2018 with a reimagined inn that offers the ideal combination of historical elegance with all the modern conveniences and amenities. Forge & Vine at The Groton Inn is our “from-scratch” restaurant located just steps behind the Inn. Drawing inspiration from the region’s history and natural surroundings, Forge & Vine offers a seasonally changing menu, an open kitchen with an 8-foot wood-fired grill, and the best view in town.

Describe the partnership between the Inn and Groton Hill. What kinds of activities and initiatives are helping to elevate Groton as a fabulous place to visit?

The Groton Inn and Groton Hill Music have worked together since 2019. A natural partnership because of our shared values, The Groton Inn and Groton Hill Music Center are a vital part of what is making Groton a destination in this region. We are proud to regularly sponsor Groton Hill concerts, we often host your performers for the weekend, and we welcome concertgoers for a delicious pre-show dinner at Forge & Vine. Before you moved into your beautiful new venue, The Groton Inn also hosted a Groton Hill board retreat and other meetings. In fact, that was one of the ways that we began this close partnership.

How is partnering with Groton Hill beneficial to your business?

Dinner, a show, and a night at The Groton Inn is the perfect night out! Many patrons see our listings on the lodging and dining section of your website – and your social media posts highlight the Inn and Forge & Vine, as well as other terrific experiences that Groton and the region have to offer. We love being the go-to spot for your concertgoers to enjoy a night’s stay at our beautiful inn and have dinner before the concert. Starting this season, we’re excited to keep our doors open later on select concert nights for late-night drinks and appetizers to keep the fun going! Having the opportunity to host your concertgoers is a win-win for both of us, as we can enrich their experience with great food and drinks before or after a fantastic concert, and offer a comfortable place to extend the evening’s festivities.

Recently, we enjoyed a private dinner (see photo) for some of our owners, team members, and guests at Groton Hill before attending your sold-out presentation of “An Evening With Sutton Foster,” which we had sponsored. Having the ability to bring our guests to your incredible facility is an added benefit of our partnership.

Why is it important to work with local organizations as well as non-profits?

We’re lucky to be a part of a fantastic community, made up of so many wonderful businesses, organizations, and people. The Groton Inn and Forge & Vine are committed to working with small businesses and nonprofits in any way we can because we believe it’s important to support and uplift our community. We partner with local shelters on our popular Yappy Hours, showcase local artists in the NOA Gallery at The Groton Inn, and co-host fun community events with local musicians, breweries, and retailers. We’re always on the lookout for new opportunities to get involved with our community!

What’s your vision for the future of our partnership?

We are thrilled to continue our partnership and mutual support as Groton becomes an increasingly popular destination for travelers worldwide. Together, we will discover new ways to offer exceptional experiences and unforgettable memories to anyone who comes to town.
