Student Recitals

Student Recitals – for family, friends, and the Groton Hill Music School community to enjoy – help you build confidence, while providing goals for lessons and home practice. Participation is not required, but we encourage you to perform in at least two recitals each year. Student recitals are held in January/February and May/June. They are open to all instruments, ages, and abilities, and take place in one of our beautiful performance spaces.

We also offer Department Recitals at various times throughout the year, as well as Honors Recitals in the spring. For Honors Recitals, our string and piano teachers nominate their most skilled, dedicated, and improved students to perform.

This competition provides a singular opportunity for advanced students to receive expert feedback from our panel of guest judges and to compete for a chance to perform as a soloist with the professional Vista Philharmonic Orchestra.

Sally Chapin Piano Competition: Held annually, our Sally Chapin Piano Competition and Winners Concert take place in May with expert adjudicators from around the region providing feedback to our most advanced piano students. This event requires an entry form and entry fee.

Please review the Competition Guidelines and check with your teacher before completing the Entry Form.
