Spend the week singing, dancing, and acting, then celebrate with an original Broadway-style performance!
You’ll be led by professional writer and composer Khiyon Hursey, with coaching by star of stage and screen Bebe Wood (Mean Girls, 2024), and vocal training by Boston-based tenor Daon Drisdom. Enjoy new exercises, diving deep into acting techniques, monologue workshops, character development, and song analysis!
Throughout the week, students learn skills essential to being a professional actor, from how to interact with accompanists to walking confidently into auditions, as well as learning full numbers and rehearsing on our world-class stage.
Students have the opportunity to perform previously chosen monologues and receive coaching from directors and feedback from peers.
The program culminates in a performance showcasing solo and group numbers for friends and family!

Khiyon Hursey is a writer and composer based in Los Angeles and New York. He was a staff writer for Soundtrack on Netflix and is currently co-writing Love in America, a movie musical to be produced by Issa Rae, and co-penning songs with Oscar Award winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul for a major musical motion picture.
Hursey got his start as the music assistant on the off-Broadway and Broadway productions, and the Grammy Award-winning cast album of Hamilton. He is a graduate of Berklee College of Music with a degree in Songwriting. His musical Eastbound was selected for the 2020 National Alliance of Musical Theatre Conference and he has worked in development at New York Stage and Film and Ars Nova.
Bebe Wood is a Cuban-American actor, musician, and songwriter from Kansas City, MO. She started acting professionally when she was 10 years old with one of her first roles playing opposite Tina Fey in an episode of 30 ROCK.
Bebe is best known for her roles as Gretchen Wieners in Tina Fey’s Mean Girls, Lake on Hulu’s critically praised Love, Victor, Shania in Ryan Murphy’s The New Normal and Shannon on ABC’s The Real O’Neals. She has also lent her voice to a plethora of Guillermo del Toro’s animated series and films in the Tales of Arcadia universe.
Tenor Daon Drisdom, a Georgia native and New England Conservatory graduate, is celebrated for his rich tone and captivating stage presence. Known for his versatility across baritone and tenor repertoires, Drisdom has brought to life characters ranging from Papageno in Mozart’s The Magic Flute to Fritz in Mascagni’s L’amico Fritz. He performs frequently with various Boston-area music organizations, making a distinctive mark on the local arts scene.
A passionate storyteller, Drisdom has a deep affinity for art songs and spirituals within the Black music repertoire. He is dedicated to sharing and interpreting these musical traditions, striving to deepen audiences’ understanding of their style and stories.

Lunch and snacks are NOT provided. Students must bring enough food for 2 snack breaks and lunch. We will provide a nut-free lunch table for students with allergies.

Please note that performance skills assessment videos are used specifically for placement purposes and not for admission into the program. This will give our faculty coordinator insight on how to properly place students and plan music for the program.
